At Watzin Veterinary Clinic we strive to provide the best health and quality of life for your pet. Similar to a “Weight Watchers” program, the Chubb Club was designed to assist you and your pet towards reaching their ideal weight. With perseverance and commitment we can help you achieve your goals.
The Chubb Club is a free service provided to registered patients who are overweight and in need of a systematic plan to achieve weight-loss. Your pet will receive a diet recommendation from a Veterinarian upon examination. At this time, the Doctor determines an appropriate body condition score and a customized weight-loss diet program will be created for your pet based on their BCS, current weight, target weight and daily caloric intake.
Our Nutrition Advocate, Jessika is here to help you along the way and answer any questions as the journey unfolds. Success can be attained through continued dedication including portion control, reduced treat intake and increased exercise. The process requires patience with your pet and yourself with the knowledge that results may take time to become evident.
In order to ensure success of the program the implemented guidelines are as follows:
All pets must come in once a month to be weighed (no charge)
Pets must only be fed the recommended food in order to achieve success
Daily food intake is recommended to be weighed rather than measured to yield best results
Exercise is necessary to affect a change in your pet’s metabolism to stimulate weight loss
*Please ask Jessika, or one of our receptionists for details. The journey to positive lifestyle changes for your pet begins with you!
