How do you minimize the risk of my pet’s surgery?

Our veterinary team takes every precaution so your pet receives the highest quality of care. Every pet receives a pre-anesthetic blood panel prior to surgery, allowing us to reduce the risk of anesthetic complications during their procedure. Your pet’s vitals are attentively monitored by our dedicated team of Registered Veterinary Technicians, who are responsible for pre and post surgical monitoring. The technicians assess your pet’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, as well as monitor heart rhythm, gas, and oxygen rates during the procedure. We also administer pain medication to keep them comfortable throughout surgery and recovery.

Why do you use the CO2 laser during procedures?

We are proud to be amongst the first veterinary practices to offer laser surgery specifically for pets. The CO2 laser is a surgical tool that generates an invisible beam of light that vaporizes the water normally found in the skin and other soft tissue. Our veterinarians precisely control the beam of the laser, removing a thin layer of tissues so the surrounding areas are unaffected. The laser technology reduces the trauma to your pet, improves recovery, and often shortens hospital stays. It creates less pain at the surgical site because its energy seals nerve endings as it moves through tissue. Which procedures can the laser perform?

The laser is ideal for a wide variety of surgical pet procedures. It can correct many common conditions such as cysts, tumours, warts, and infections that occur around the eyes, ears, mouth, or other areas of the skin. Our veterinary team will discuss if your pet’s upcoming surgery can be performed with the CO2 laser.
