Which vaccines does my kitten need?

If your pet received vaccines before they joined your family, they’ll need to continue vaccinations every few weeks. Your kitten should be vaccinated starting at 6 or 8-weeks-old and will receive boosters throughout adulthood. Our vaccine appointments include vaccination, physical exam, nail trim, fecal analysis, and nutritional consultation. Vaccines we typically recommend include:

• Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia (FVRCP) at 8, 12, 16 and 19-weeks-old
• Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) at 12 and 16-weeks-old
• Rabies at 16-weeks-old

How can these vaccines protect my pet?

Vaccines help to strengthen your pet’s immunity against certain diseases that would otherwise be harmful and in some cases, life-threatening. For example, rabies is a deadly disease targeting the nerves in your pet’s brain. As it progresses, your pet could become more aggressive, excessively drool, stagger, become paralyzed, and have seizures. Vaccinating your pet against this disease allows their body to fight against it and prevent the impact it could have on their health.

Why does my cat need boosters?

Vaccination doesn’t end after the first few weeks of your kitten’s life. Boosters are essential to ensure your pet maintains their immunity against a range of harmful diseases. Depending on the vaccines, your pet could need a booster less frequently than once per year. Our veterinary team will advise you when it’s time to give your pet their booster vaccines.
