Congratulations on your new arrival! Puppies are so much fun and we’re certain you will enjoy the months ahead. As you settle into life with your new puppy, it’s important to stay up-to-date with your pet’s vaccination plan. Vaccination helps provide your pet protection against life-altering diseases that could be detrimental to their health.
What vaccines does my puppy need?
Typical vaccines we include in our puppy packages include Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza (DHPP), Bordetella, Leptospirosis and Rabies. If you’re interested in creating a vaccination plan for your pet, please contact us at 905-690-0040.
When should my pet receive these vaccines?
We recommend the following vaccination schedule for your pet:
- 8 week vaccination: Includes a full physical examination, required vaccinations (DHPP), nail trim, fecal analysis, puppy information kit, and nutritional consultation.
- 12 week vaccination: Includes a full physical examination, required vaccines (Leptospirosis/DHPP), nail trim, and nutritional consultation.
- 16 week vaccination: Includes a full physical examination, required vaccines (Leptospirosis/DHPP/Rabies/Bordetella), nail trim, and nutritional consultation.
- 19 week vaccination: Pre-surgical physical examination, required vaccines (Bordetella), nail trim, fecal analysis.
Why does my puppy need a vaccine at 19-weeks old?
Our clinic provides a 19-week vaccine booster that acts as a final vaccination. We added this booster because we see a lot of Bordetella in dogs. We want to ensure our patients are properly vaccinated and protected. This 19-week booster also allows us to assess your puppy when they’re closer to 6-months-old, allowing us to discuss their upcoming spay or neuter.
